Sometime in August I found the Little Black Bag (LBB) page on Facebook, and after much debate with the bestie and hubster, I decided to do it, something for me.

I subscribed to receive a bag every month! Hooorrraaaay!

What is a LBB you ask? Well! It’s a surprise you receive every month – its the latest in fashion, home, beauty and food… and the best and most awesome part is you don’t know what you are getting every month till you receive your package. It makes me giggle just thinking about it.

When I received my first bag, I ran down the stairs at work and opened it with much glee and excitement. This I think will be a reaction I have every month hereafter!

I have yet to disappointed (2 bags later) by the contents for the price. Definitely value for money at R249 per month and once you subscribe for one bag you are automatically subscribed for every month – so simple and easy. This price includes delivery to your door!

My first bag – in September, the theme of the month was #picnic. You can check out the contents here.

Today’s post is about this months bag. October’s theme is #BreastFriends in honour of Breast Cancer Awareness month, it was an awesome surprise which I received last week today while I was in hospital. It is inspired by Warrior Women. Pink Power. New Life. Grateful Days. Can you see me loving this????

In this months bag I received the following:

  • A LBB Cotton Tote Bag with the quote “The true warrior isn’t immune to fear. She fights in spite of it” – Francesca Lia Block – love this great for summer, shopping, beach days – what am I saying I don’t do fashion stuff but I love the feel and the quote on this bag
  • Pink Macaroons – they are in the black cute little bag pink macaroons in honour of Breast Cancer Awareness – from Lady C Macaroons – you know the box in this picture is empty right? I ate the macaroons, they were a bright pink colour. Beautiful. They taste like more!
  • Nail Polish a baby pink colour that I am super excited to use on my tooties #pinkpower
  • A magnet for your fridge that says – Start each day with a grateful heart (this is an awesome reminder)
  • An infinity necklace by Posh Designs, its long, an arrow on the one end that locks into the infinity end. It’s beautifully designed dainty (which is my thing), definitely something I will be wearing.
  • AND my favourite favourite part of this months bag – a rock planter by Mom & me. Its a rock – literally, heavy and hard… a rock with a little space for a plant. My mom got me a baby cactus today to put in it. For me this was the best part of the surprise and seeing it in action today made it even more special.

The timing of this bag was really perfect, and the goodies inside were awesome, as usual. They are good quality products that expose you to so many new little companies that make awesome stuff. I love it. This month’s bag was worth R402!

It is special for me because when this gift bag came – I needed to be a warrior. The rock planter has a place next to my bed as a reminder of survival in adversity. Its literally growth from a stone. It’s a little reminder to fight. To survive. A little miracle next to my bed.

I just love it.

Thank you Little Black Bag. I love this product because it really is, as they  say – It’s like Christmas every month. It’s like finding money in an old jacket. It’s like green lights in the traffic on the way to work. It’s awesome.

In the meantime – keep fighting, remember being brave doesn’t mean you aren’t scared.

  1. Ah! You made me want one of these/ Been rewarding myself with food for too long now so I’m moving over to buying other things instead. The element of surprise might be too much for me now as I’d like to invest in some things I need or want as opposed to having 0 control over what I get. Definitely going to recommend this to my friends.

    • Yay glad u like it Ashleigh… its really awesome, their past bags are great as well! And as for rewarding yourself with food… that’s actually something I do and didn’t realise till just now! Thanks for the read! Xxx
