7 reasons why being the eldest sibling – SUCKS!

All my life, I have been the black sheep of my family. Don’t tell them I said this, they will deny it. I think it is I was a little wilder than I think my parents anticipated. (I do have like 6 tattoos and all that) And partly because I was the oldest. (personal theory here) The eldest sibling. The one who had to show my sister how to behave and do the right thing. The 11’s – Life with an 11 month old and an 11 year old!

For a brief few weeks between mid July and mid August this year. I have an 11 month old little boy and an 11 year old girl. The 11’s. It’s a difficult age for both, but we manage. Well, we managed. Or that it would have been better if you started using it sooner. Pffft! (more…)

It’s no secret that for most of my adult life I have been a single mother. Although I married a fantastic man, who is an amazing father to our children. I have never let go of the mindset of being a single mother. It was one of the toughest things to learn. How to be alone. How to be a two-in-one parent. It feels as though entrenched into me. But being married with a single mindset can never work. And so I embark on my journey toward unlearning. (more…)
