Date nights are far and few in between in our home, as mentioned previously we make time to spend at least 30 minutes in devotional every day (When our situation allows of course!).  When Christian Art Media sent me the new Mr & Mrs Collection hamper, I was absolutely elated that it contained 52 date night ideas and a sweet devotional as well! They have also given me an extra set to host a giveaway for one lucky reader! Accckkk!!!

366 Devotionals for Couples – Mr & Mrs

In my last devotional review, I reviewed “Saving your Marriage Before It Starts” it was a devotional aimed for couples that don’t have much time and need to get into a routine. This one, I would say is very similar, but they do have per day devotions. For my family, this kind of devotional would work for a quick quiet time in the morning before the bustle of the day. Although I have also used it when we were tired, to just do a touch base/ Each devotional starts with a topic and scripture related to it. A short extract and some thought provoking questions follow with a motivation and a prayer. These questions usually open doors for other conversations – a big part of why I love devotions. The Mr & Mrs Devotionals for Couples retails for R249.95 at CUM Books you can get yourself a copy here.

52 Date Night Ideas for Couples – Mr & Mrs

If it wasn’t clear before, this is my favourite part of this hamper, probably because we suck at date nights. We also wish we didn’t so, that kind of sucks even more. The box set is 52 date night ideas, one for every week of the year. For us 52 is a lot, however my marriage is worth it. I am going to be making every effort to try and do something no matter how small for each week. The ideas are totally doable though which I love! Not extravagant, expensive and practical, for example, the first one is called “I’m Sweet on You”, it suggests that you visit your favourite restaurant and order the most decadent dessert on the menu.

How we used it?

Getting a babysitter is really a struggle for us, but we improvised and made our favourite dessert at home. Together, when the kids went to bed (Our night time routine is critical to getting alone time!) we sat and used the conversation starter included to share ways we show one another our sweet sides and how this makes us feel loved. (It’s crazy how after all this time together, there are still things we haven’t yet said to one another!)

Mr & Mrs

My husband is very corny, so this still makes me blush and smile. We don’t always have the time, to appreciate the little things by actually mentioning them out loud. I love that these date night ideas, give you the space to be intentional about one another and investing in your marriage! They also come in a really cute acrylic holder with a sturdy base for standing. A magnet at the back, if you would prefer it up on the fridge. It is also a fantastic gift idea for couples getting married! This retails for R149.95 and you can get yourself a box set here..

  1. 52 date night ideas for couples. We haven’t “dated” in forever. This could be a good start and give us wonderful exciting ideas 🙂

  2. This sounds truly amazing!

Life gets so busy, we try and have date night at least once a month if life doesn’t get to hectic. I do however realise that we need more time alone but really getting a babysitter is the most difficult thing on the planet. O! and the mom guilt! Leaving baby at home, while mum and dad go out to have some fun! LOL

  3. A absolutely wonderful giveaway which is much needed, I enjoyed reading this review thank you
I love the 52 Date Night Ideas for Couples a amazing concept.
